This English language learning programme for young glass professionals aims at making vocational language learning easier by providing print as well as audio-visual material on glass, cooperative learning tasks, and quizzes for self-study. For using these properly, you need some so additional free software.

Please activate Active X in your browser. You'll also need Quicktime Player for watching films, Real Player for listening to radio reports, and Acrobat Reader for reading PDF files. Java is important for tests and quizzes. Audacity is an programme for creating audio files, so called podcasts. You'll need a headset with a microphone too. You can get the plug-ins from the websites of Sun, Apple, Real, Adobe, and Audacity:

To save the Audacity audio files in an mp3 format, you'll need "lame." Download the zip-file and install the lame_enc.dll file once on your PC. After that there will be no problem to save all your podcasts as mp3 files.

You should make Real your standard media player. If Quick Time is your standard player, for every audio file a new screen window will be opened, which can be very annoying.
